Worried about lead in Golden’s water?

You may have been following all of the recent horrific news of the water crisis in Flint, Michigan where a series of missteps and inaction have led to severe lead contamination problems. This has led many to wonder about the quality of our water here in Golden. The good news is that Golden’s Public Works staff conducts regular tests and treats the water so that it doesn’t cause corrosion in our water infrastructure that can lead to lead contamination like in Flint. Since lead testing began in 1991, Golden has never exceeded the allowable levels of lead and copper in our supply. If you’re interested to learn more, check out Golden’s Water Quality Report that shows testing results and explains where we get our water, how it is tested and treated, and how it gets delivered to our homes.
