Council Poised to Take Action on Municipal Broadband in May
Over 50 Colorado towns and counties have now voted to exempt themselves from State prohibitions on providing broadband services. The Golden City Council will be discussing the issue of municipal broadband at our study session this Thursday May 19th, including what opportunities exist, the next steps that would need to occur, and pros and cons of implementation. Then we’ll be voting on a resolution at our May 26th meeting that would put the issue up for a vote on the November ballot. If you have thoughts, ideas, or suggestions about this, we’d love to hear from you. Contact us at citycouncil@cityofgolden.net.
